Biography

Growing up in South Florida, Robbin Young never imagined one day making her way to Hollywood. The Southern Baptist thought of herself as an ugly ducking growing up, so her mother entered her in beauty pageants in order to gain confidence. After losing many pageants, in her mid-teens the ugly duckling turned into a swan and she won numerous trophies and crowns...one being Miss National Fire Prevention (the award she’s most proud of, because she spent weeks learning fire safety and touring the USA visiting burn units meeting with patients. Robbin also traveled to London for National Fire Prevention Week, where she was interviewed on the BBC).

Robbin was diagnosed with polio as a child, and she began Hawaiian dancing at the age of nine, to strengthen her legs. Thank God it worked, and she went on to perform in Miami Beach hotels as a professional Polynesian dancer until the age of twenty-one, and enjoyed a busy modeling career.

Jump forward to 1979 when she was glancing at Playboy’s July issue, and out popped the words, “Be A James Bond Girl.” Reading on, “Playboy Magazine and United Artists Announce a Fabulous Contest! The Grand Prize: An Appearance in the Next James Bond Motion Picture!” Robbin was ecstatic, as she was a huge James Bond fan. So she entered the contest and after months of interviews and a screen test, she says, “I was blessed to be selected by Albert ‘Cubby’ Broccoli, Roger Moore, and Hugh Hefner to appear in the James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only as the girl in the flower shop in Cortina, Italy. Great times, and incredible memories.” Robbin moved to Santa Monica, California and appeared in a smattering of films and TV shows, and 18 USA and International Playboy magazine pictorials. After several years of acting and Playboy party life, she realized it was not for her, and she moved back to South Florida where she married and moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Robbin co-owned and managed a pair of successful ski lodges with her husband, but she divorced and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she still resides today.

Robbin is currently writing a series of memoirs, and promises they will be factual, salacious, and from the heart.
