Biography

Born in Hertfordshire in 1930, Bernard Horsfall has balanced an exciting film and tv career, with one on the stage.

He made his film debut in 1957 in the Ray Milland drama High Flight. This was swiftly followed by roles in The Steel Bayonet, Critical Point and Man In The Moon with Kenneth More and Shirley Anne Field.

In 1964 he appeared in Guns At Batasi and started clocking up a vast number of tv appearances including: Z Cars, The Avengers, Ivanhoe, Dixon Of Dock Green, Softly Softly, The Saint, Doctor Who, Department S, Doomwatch, The Persuaders, Hammer House Of Mystery And Suspense, The Jewel In The Crown, Juliet Bravo, Casualty, The Bill, Poirot and most recently Between The Lines and Murder Rooms.

His film career in the late 60s and early 70s saw him appear in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Gold and Shout At The Devil - all directed by Peter Hunt.

In OHMSS he played Camopbell, Bond's ally up near the snowy peaks of Piz Gloria - who sadly came to a sticky end.

Other film appearances include Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, The Hound Of The Baskervilles and Mel Gibson's Braveheart.

Bernard sadly passed away on the 29th January 2013 at the age of 82.
