Biography

Exotic Nicaraguan-American leading lady Barbara Carrera burst onto the high-fashion modelling scene at the age of 17.

Miss Carrera achieved prominence in the U.S. for her appearances in a series of "Chiquita Banana" commercials. Her film debut was in 1970's Puzzle of a Downfall Child, followed by The Master Gunfighter (1975), Embryo (1976) and The Island Of Dr Moreau (1977). Disney's Condorman other titles such as I, The Jury and When Time Ran Out preceeded her casting as seductive villainess Fatima Blush in Sean Connery's return to the 007 fold, Never Say Never Again in 1983.

On television, Barbara Carrera portrayed Angelica Nero during the 1985-86 "amnesia" season of Dallas.

Other film roles include Wild Geese II (1985), The Underachievers (1987), Love At Stake (1988), Murder In Paradise (1990), Night Of The Archer (1994), Alec To The Rescue (1999), and Paradise (2003).

Barbara has traveled the world over, mastering five languages and is also an accomplished painter, drawing inspiration for her art from hours of solitude and introspection. Her paintings are portraits, visionary landscapes, and spiritually insightful images. An exhibition of her celebrity portraits was held at the Hollywood Entertainment Museum in 2002.
